Don't both CX and SQ still fly from SFO to HKG at night? If I booked the night flight on purpose, I'd certain angle to get on one of those instead of accepting a day flight.
SQ has not flown that route since the pandemic and the CX flight still seems a bit erratic in when it operates, but will have hopefully stabilized to daily frequencies when OP travels.
