Hi,

I have been to Osaka and it is well worth a visit . I stayed at the Conrad ( very nice hotel with a good executive lounge and good metro links)
The osaka hilton is close to Osaka station ( the shinkansen stops at Shin-osaka station a few minutes by local train from Osaka station)
If you were going to Kyoto and Nara then Osaka would make more sense but you have been there before

If you were going to Himeji ( Castle) or Okayama for the Korakuen garden then Kobe might be worthwhile ( shinkansen station at shin-kobe is like osaka a few minutes away from the centre by train)
