Driving from LIS to Douro Valley will be 3h+, after a red eye. I would try to avoid it but it's just my opinion. Going from the airport to train station is easy, trains run frequently and you'd pretty much arrive at Porto at a similar time (it could be a nice back-up plan). Also, is there no availability on TAP for NYC-LIS-OPO?
