I think being more conveniently located on the island/tsuen wan line is more important if you are actually staying in the city. If you are just overnighting in HK then probably more convenient to be closer to the aex line.
The most conveniently located luxury hotels to the Island/Tsuen Wan Line are the MO and the LMO, more or less on top of Central Station. The Pen is also fairly close to the TST Station on the Tsuen Wan Line. A bit of a hike (and actually closer to the East TST Station) is the Rosewood and the "new" Regent (ex-IC/ex-Regent).
