I think you can gift someone a single month of Audible, which gives them a credit for an audiobook and neither end up automatically charged for an ongoing subscription. I haven't done it, though, hopefully sometime else can weigh in more definitively.
I set up a sub for an audible, but could not find a way to gift it without setting up the account myself.
