I have a translant flight in a week and I applied Miles + Money for an upgrade. Yesterday the upgrade appeared to clear and I was able to select a seat in Biz. However, looking under the "Your Trips" link on the AA site the trip listing still shows "Mileage upgrade Requested".
I also have a translant booked for September where I applied a SWU. A few days ago the return leg appeared to clear and I was again able to assign a seat in Biz. However, the trip listing still shows "Systemwide upgrade Requested".
I'm hearing rumblings in other threads about the upgrade system being wonky lately, however, I'm concerned that something may be fouled up in my reservations. Any suggestions?
I had something similar happen to me yesterday. Upgrade DFW to CDG for all 4 of us "cleared" and I have a screen shot showing us in Business Class seats 1A, 1D, 1H, and 1L. A few hours later I went back in to the App to show my wife the seats and we were back in Premium Economy with no seats assigned (our original seats were gone / taken by someone else). Obviously I was pissed so I called the EXP desk. Biggest concern is we are traveling as a family with two kids under age 10 and we need to be together. Agent confirmed that I was upgraded but then the system reversed it. Said it was a system problem and apparently was happening to others. She offered us an alternative flight DFW PHL CDG in which she could use my Systemwide Upgrades to get us in First / Business but did not want that option as compared to Non-Stop. After about an hour an a half she cleared two of us to business, with my wife and son still in PE. Unfortunately this meant splitting the record locator so I'm not sure what my wife and son's chances are now. She said someone would "work on it on Monday" to get them cleared but not sure I have much faith in that. Very frustrating...
