I think I ....ed up with Cathay booking. I got a roundtrip award flight on Qatar from DAC to DXB for my brother. We booked for 02/11 DAC to DXB and 03/04 DXB to DAC.
I had booked the return date far out to change later once he was there and just called CX and they said I can't change date for returning flight since the ticket has already been partially used. I'm guessing I'm ....ed and just wasted 31k miles that won't be used for that returning flight but wanted to confirm that is the case and I didn't just get a bad rep. Although I doubt that's the case since CX reps seem to be pretty good in my little experience and reading, I wanted to double check anyways. Also is this the same for a lot of other airlines? I've booked awards before with AA and changed return flights on Qatar all the time and didn't even think it was ever a problem to change dates.
