I won't comment on this incident, as I was not there. But what I can comment on with authority is that UA absolutely takes this stuff seriously. We have an excellent safety culture, and things like this do get shared in training scenarios.

As to an FBI or NTSB cover-up, in 24+ years of airline flying, I have never seen an NTSB or FAA cover-up as a result of an incident or accident. I did witness an FBI cover-up once in the 1990's as it related to an aircraft loss, but that's a different story for a different time.
