I check my bags and go with as little carry-on as possible, usually just a small case with an iPad. I book an aisle seat and board last. Typically the GA's don't like it fwiw especially if they see me just sitting there at the gate until last call for boarding. But I really don't care, this has been my MO for years and even more so now given the boarding mess which seems almost worse now over the past month. As others above noted HNL has been particularly ugly, I just won't deal with scrum.
