This reminds me of my experience for the most amusing passive aggressive approach to making me leave.
Got a 4pm checkout, but when arriving at the room at 3:30, found my key wasn't coded properly so couldn't enter. Wasted time going to get it re-coded, resulting in me running slightly late. As I'm leaving at 4:10, the hotel room phone starts ringing (I ignore it). 1 min later, as I'm in the elevator going down to check out, I get a call on my cell phone. A very fake nice voice on the other end asks me if I need any assistance with my luggage as I'm due to check out! Told the person no, I'm literally 30 seconds away from checking out.
