I've been staying at an Aloft property pretty frequently (closest hotel in-policy to the office I'm traveling to). You have opt-in during check-in to the every other day housekeeping -- at least they are upfront about it but I still sometimes forget and then it's a PITA the next day (e.g., take a shower in the morning on day 2and forget to hang towel up since it's a skip day so then have no clean towel for the morning on day 3)
