I've posted before and, if I should have continued my previous thread, apologies.

After many calls to SQ and a lot of research, I'm trying to book a OW Saver Award in Business Class from JFK to CGK via SIN for 7 Feb, 2024. Seat availability opens up this Friday. To get ready to book, I was messing around with availability and noticed that there is decent Saver Award availability for the last few days of Jan, but on 1 Feb, there are only Advantage Award possibilities showing and it says, "Waitlist." I'm not sure exactly what that means, but I assume it means it's not available, but can be waitlisted. It seems too much of a coincidence that the availability would vary so much between the end of Jan and beginning of Feb; I'm wondering if it's a seasonal issue, not merely availability and I'm also wondering if it has to do with Chinese New Year happening on 10Feb.

In any case, we've booked an expensive land/liveaboard package booked starting in Sorong (SOQ) on 11 Feb and were planning to visit Angkor Wat afterwards to avoid the worst of the crowds during the holiday weekend, but if it's going to be impossible to get C class on SQ around 7Feb, maybe we'll change our plans and go to REP earlier, as in on 31 Jan.

Thoughts? Expertise? I'm about to pull out my hair after trying to glean information from a number of SQ res agents.

My plan is to look up availability online, choose the exact flights, call SQ and have them hold it, then move the points into Krisflyer. I did a test transfer and it took less than 15 minutes. I'll be moving 222,000 points.
