Finished my visit to Egypt with two nights at this property. HH Diamond. Rates for this hotel are insanely cheap. Booked two standard rooms. Prior to arrival in the app both rooms were upgraded. One room to a Duplex King Room Sea View and the other to a Deluxe King Room Sea View. Both rooms are located in a separate building.
Upon arrival, the reception was quite cold. Had to fill in a guest registration form. When the agent finally looked up our reservation and noticed I'm Diamond and booked direct, the attitude changed. They probably have 99% package bookings. We received black wristbands for Bed&Breakfast.
The rooms were quite nice. Bright and modern, and more in an apartment style with a kitchen area. The duplex room had two bathrooms; one upstairs (next to the bedroom) and one downstairs. Downstairs had a terrace, upstairs had a balcony with sea view. Only criticism is that there is insufficient lighting in both the living area and bedroom.
Being a hotel that mostly caters to all-inclusive package guests, the focus is on the main buffet restaurant. Breakfast had a large selection with OK quality. Don't expect any table service, not even for coffee. I also wonder how the restaurant can cope with a full house! For lunch, we were surprised there is not one outlet that offers a menu (like burgers, sandwiches). Luckily there is a mall next to the hotel with some food joints. There are two a la carte restaurants, one Asian (OK), one Turkish (good).
There is a large beach with ample chairs. For such a large hotel, the two pools are actually quite small. One is tucked behind the chalet building in the shade, the main pool is on top one of the wings of the main building.
Whilst not my cup of tea, I do have to give the hotel credit for the nice Diamond recognition between the generous upgrade and late check-out (both rooms until 17:30h).
