For the 5 year old I would highly recommend a partial day at Kidzania! I'm so bummed my child has aged out of it. We have done locations in London, Dubai, and Tokyo. The Tokyo location was amazing. Also, if you're spending some time down in Kyushu, my daughter really loved the Beppu area where there's a Sanrio theme park, aquarium, and monkey park.
