Sheraton Grand Taipei
Apologies for the delay in updating here; life and work all got very busy but of course I'm committed to finishing this TR for all of my pining fans

I think most interesting / useful to this community will be the report on EVA's "new" 787 business class... of which it seems like there are few reports on here. But we still have a few installments before we get there.
After a quick a easy transfer back from Songshan Airport on the Taipei MRT, I arrived at back at the Sheraton Grand for a few days before returning to the US. Again, being the holiday season (and the first time in a while that Taiwan was open with no COVID-era quarantine restrictions), travel was back in full swing and demand (and rates!) were high.
I'd looked at other options - I had toyed with the idea of moving to Hotel Resonance (essentially next door) given it's brand new, but turns out there was no proper restaurant (apparently Honors Gold members and above just get some sort of credit to the onsite "Starbucks") and the rate was higher than the Sheraton. While I typically am not a breakfast eater, when in Asia...
The Sheraton ended up winning since it looks like the gym is nicer, it has a sauna (that I didn't end up using LOL), and many dining options (of which I only dined in Kitchen 12 for breakfast LOL), but the clincher: it was far easier to just leave my larger luggage at the concierge and retrieve it upon returning from Taitung.
This time, I had proactively been upgraded to a suite (King "Executive Diplomatic" Suite) which is seemingly the highest category suite they offer below their "Ambassador Suite" (akin to a Presidential Suite).
The suite is well-appointed, with a powder room off the entrance and a proper living room (with a full closing door). Measuring at ~710 sqft, it was a great way to spend 3 nights back in Taipei. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Next up: a last few days in Taipei consisting of primarily walking, and eating, and walking, and eating (what else are you supposed to do on vacation?).
