ironically I also went with my husband to southern Taiwan and had a great time.
And wherever I am in Taiwan I love to get Shoubing and peanut soy drink.

Thanks for the comments, Bear4Asian. While the seats on the 787 look nicer, I actually think in terms of the comfort, the 777 still wins here. I'll detail in a future post but overall I feel like the 787 has more suboptimal seats (e.g., those close to the aisle) vs. most seats on the 777 are the same.
