For example there is availability in F NRT-JFK on Feb 22. I can get the engine to spit out convoluted onward connections on AS from JFK to pretty much anywhere AS flies in the US (SEA, PDX, PAE, ANC, even OME!) but it won't let me go to YVR or YLW despite there being tons of award space if searching that segment on it's own. Not a huge deal as I can get to and from SEA (or PAE) easily enough but as a new AS point collector based in YVR who intends to primarily redeem on JAL flights I'm curious about what the actual rules are that are preventing me from flying to/from YVR non-direct.
Are you sure saver space exists the day you want to fly SEA (or possibly PDX) -YVR? That saver space is often rarer than JL F itself.
You wrote to YVR and to YLW, there are a ton of award seats. Where do you see them?
