Huh, this must explain the switch then. Previously, AF's CDG–YUL route in May (I will be in this route late May this year), AF had one with A359 and one with B777-300 COI. Now they have both running B777-300 COI. Also they switched around the schedule so that one flight departs in the morning, and then the other in the early afternoon. When I initially booked mine, I think one was some time in the afternoon and one in the evening (like at 18:20 iirc). That became early morning + late afternoon, but the late afternoon (circa 16:20) now is flying out at 13:30.
They do seem to love to play with this route. I was excited to fly the A359 in August but like you, it's now been changed to a COI on the outbound and 772 on the inbound. At least the COI version has updated seats.
