I'm having issues choosing a hotel in Kyoto as it's our first trip there and I have no idea what to expect from Kyoto in July.
We are traveling with children 10yo and 12yo so need 2 connecting rooms.
Important for us is good beds, quiet peaceful, good and personal service, green/garden, breakfast preferably outside, a pool preferably outside.
Based on this we have 2 real options:
- Four seasons Kyoto, because it seems to have a real nice garden where you can have breakfast outside, location is also better for our tourist visits then Roku
- Roku kyoto, because of the outside pool and the peaceful environment, it looks like a place where we can really come to peace after a day of touring
Apart from that we have 1 budget option:
- Fauchon Kyoto (doesn't have the outside breakfast or the pool, but it's a lot cheaper (1/4th of the price of the above hotels) and the location seems good, breakfast at fauchon should be good as it's french

Can anyone help me with the following questions ?
- is outside swimming in Kyoto really a thing in July as there seems to be only one luxury hotel with an outside pool ?
- is outside breakfast nice in Kyoto in July or is there too much rain or is it too warm ?
anything else I should consider for choosing a hotel in Kyoto ?

fyi. A Ryokan in Kyoto is not an option for us, it's the first part of our trip and we are looking for something western with Japanese influences, we will be staying at Wanosoto, Fufu nikko and Fufu nara later on during the trip and that's enough ryokan experience for us.
