I wouldn't take your single anecdotal experience and say a blanket statement that ANA's (or any other airline's) catering is bad. May have been an off day. I can understand if you felt that way after multiple ANA F or J flights.
I attribute most of it to origin from US. If it origin from Japan, ANA would have been removed from my list forever.
But people are asking about origin from US, hmmm.
