There is risk of a rogue agent causing a problem, so get to the airport extra early. Now having said that, I NEVER enter my middle name on any air ticket regardless of destination without any issues, so not sure if leaving out one of the mismatching names might help?
Yeah it's a bummer that with ETIAS I won't be able to do online check-in anymore. I really wish they'd make the check-in systems better for dual citizens. During online-checkin I could provide the German passport name order (when it asks for passport details),though if it seems names order doesn't match 100% probably will throw an error.
I was thinking it's even better I write the middle name on everything so it's easier to compare the two names and see they are essentially the same.
