We flew SWA to Maui last month and about three seconds before touchdown the pilot aborted the landing and headed skyward. We were so close to landing that we were already passing the terminal and gates. As the plane was circling around for a second attempt, the pilot came on and calmly said, "You may have noticed we didn't land. That was because a small private plane pulled onto the runway".
