Last year, I received a mini onboard celebration, consisting of birthday cake with card, champagne, and one of those cute teddies from the crew shortly before landing. Subsequently I found out that this was because a family member had called SQ to inform of my birthday two days after my flight.
Incidentally, this year I'd be flying on SQ on my actual birthday. But I had told my family NOT to inform SQ in advance.
Hence I'm wondering if they're alert enough to passengers' birthdates and may do the same onboard gesture? Arguably, they do have access to each passenger's details through their KF membership or, at the latest, from their passport details upon check-in.
Has anyone experienced this WITHOUT having yourself or someone you know informing SQ in advance? Would be interested in data points if there are... and be very impressed indeed at how they leverage their customer data to provide a delightful experience.
