I didn’t know that Boeing 717 planes were used for commercial flights. I assumed they and 727s were used for cargo / usps! I’m more a UAL pax so accustomed to 737 or A319
for smaller planes. I guess the 717 is like the Embraer regional small planes for smaller airports - although ATL to iowa / Idaho on a 717 seems like a long journey.
Thank you gaobest ! The flight to ATL definitely made for an excellent start to my journey. Thank you even though I mainly listen to older music, I will admit that after hearing The Weeknd and Dua Lipa many times, I definitely enjoy listening to them. That's awesome that your child is a fan of those artists and that you and your child get to enjoy listening to The Weeknd and Dua Lipa together! Sadly, I didn't get to watch the Weeknd for the 2021 Super Bowl halftime show as I had to work that day . I think in 2020 J-Lo performed and you are right, Eminem/Dr. Dre and others performed in 2022 and that was a pretty fun halftime show. Hopefully, Rihanna will put on a solid performance for this year's halftime.

The Boeing 717s, which are relatives to the MD-88/MD-90 are definitely used for commercial flights and I even flew on them a couple of times in August 2015 on DL to/from JFK-FLL. I don't know about 717s for cargo use but I do know the 727s are used for commercial/passenger use and I think I flew on one when DL used them. I know what you mean I think since UAL doesn't have the 717s, their smallest mainline planes are the 737s or A319s. You are not wrong there gaobest the 717 is sort of like an Embraer jet, but its larger size versus a regional jet makes it more comfortable for shorter journeys that have a greater number of passengers (i.e. NYC-BOS) or for medium length journeys where there are not enough passengers to warrant using a larger aircraft or at times of the year when loads are thinner (i.e. prior to mid-2016/early-2017 if I am not mistaken, NYC-certain Floridian cities on DL), making it a very versatile aircraft. I think the 717 would have no trouble doing ATL-Iowa but I agree with you I doubt it could do ATL-Idaho as it would not have the range. Also, it probably would not be as comfortable as a larger aircraft going cross country haha!

Hope you and your family enjoy the Super Bowl!
