In my opinion, the best choice is the Hilton right there adjacent to the station. No hassle when you leave as you simply walk over to the Heathrow Express. Rooms there are generally less than £400, suites somewhat higher. However, if you are willing to spend up to $800, you might want to splurge on any one of London’s fantastic hotels around Hyde Park which isn’t far from Paddington. May tends to be a busy month in London hotels but right now there is availability all month at the Hilton. Book soon, though.
