I have difficulty understanding this promotion, which I also received. First it says you need to register by April 30 and then stay two or five nights within 90 days of registration. But in the terms and conditions, it refers to the stays needing to take place within the 'promotional period', which is defined as between February 1 and April 30.

So, anyone who registers on April 30 (or indeed April 29), would have no possibility of reaching even Gold status.

I ask this, because I could book stays in June and July, all of which could be easily completed within 90 days of April 30, or even of April 15. For that reason I was thinking of registering on April 15, but I don't want to commit myself to IHG hotels if these won't enable me to regain my Platinum status. At the moment I am more concerned to keep my Platinum status (with a higher threshold of 60 nights) in another loyalty scheme.
