What is that fundamental issue as you see it? I have seen some messy lounges in the US too, including with some Amex CLs where sometimes — albeit less frequent than with the SAS lounges — used dishes littered the places for as long as I’ve seen it be the case at times at the main SAS hub airport lounges.
