Avianca appears to be uniquely challenging. I have a flight coming up with them next week, booked through AC on 014 stock, and neither airline's call center is able to select seats in advance, though all tickets say that seat selection has been pre-paid. The app workaround doesn't seem to work with Avianca, as it does with Turkish.
