Don't need to call, not now anymore. Just make sure you are (1) logged in, and (2) search using the desktop web site. It'll show which flights are available for GUC and which flights are available for RUC (or rather, both types of UCs then).
Works not just for new bookings but existing ones also. If the exact same flights you booked previously now show UC availability in a new search, you can call to attach the cert now as the inventory is available.
