I tried it a few more time and it never accepted my driver license phone. Apparently the Pixel 6 Pro cam isn’t good enough for Hertz :/. So whatever checkin does, it never worked for me, but my name was on the Gold board. Just told the guy at the exit gate to update my driver license info.
