My question is, if I end up keeping the SQ flight, can I downgrade later from flexible reward (77.5k) to lowest reward (60k) and get refunded the point difference? I've read some posts about this but it seems too good to be true and I don't fully understand how this works. Thanks!
I am wondering this same thing, but with another variable just for discussion's sake. If indeed one can't change the ticket type later, has anyone ever tried canceling a partner refundable award ticket, then rebooking it again as a "lowest" ticket? I assume that the time that elapses before the partner award availability shows again varies by carrier. In my case, I would absolutely have a backup flight booked elsewhere before trying it. Just curious if anyone has tried this before and how it worked out?
