But, you may have a point, because I can probably try to use points for one full rt ticket.
It seems like you're paying for three RTs instead of two, and on the companion one, you're forced into a higher fare class (for an already premium route). Of course, the two RTs are far longer, but I don't think they'd likely cost twice the shorter ones.

Especially if you value the companion pass for potential future use (I don't, actually, since it forces the higher fare class) then don't forget to add that into your calculations.
