Got the dreaded 'SSSS' on my LHR-JFK boarding pass. Couldn't get it online. First Wing issued my passes including JFK-LAX, LAX-HNL.
The SSSS extra checks - are they done both at security and the gate? Should this affect my decision about whether to go through T5 connections or clear border and back through FW? (2h connection if landing on time)
Would it be sensible to turn up at the gate early or just normal boarding time?
