This may be technically true, but we don't call things like free night certificates attached to hotel cards (Amex Hilton Aspire, Bonvoy Brilliant, Hyatt Visa, etc) "retention bonuses." Capital One may still give out actual retention bonuses or waive annual fees on these cards if people ask (they routinely waive annual fees on the regular Venutre)
