It is pretty dang hard to reach them on the phone, so just wondering if it is worth it or will they, in true JAL fashion, be complete stickler for rules? Although, I don't think it would be against the rules to change to the previous date, under these circumstances.
The other problem is that all three of us are on different reservations. Two paid J and one AS award in J. Will JAL be able to change the AS reservation as well, because that will probably require making award inventory available? Or will AS be able to change the JAL reservation, regardless of award inventory? Or should i be expecting a runaround between the two? SO much easier getting in touch with AS from the US.
Unless the cabin is sold out, Alaska should be able to move the passenger to the desired flight. It may take a couple of days due to having to ask JAL to open up additional award space though. The Alaska rep that I had the pleasure of dealing with, she was an absolute delight.
