The intent was to reduce crowding, which everyone agrees was a huge problem. Amex has just massively back-tracked on that, such that the whole thing is now just a meaningless gesture. I'd find this disappointing even if I hadn't met the requirement, as I hardly ever bring guests.

Might as well just close the thread, there's going to be no improvement in CL crowding - zero, nada, zilch.
