I’m going to be a platinum for the first time ever pretty soon. A couple questions:
1) Any tips/trucks about the room upgrade? From what I’ve read, it seems very hit or miss. I mostly stay at JWs and Westins with the occasional Marriott and Autograph Collection.
2) I read about some people saying they see their upgraded room in the app — will an upgrade sometimes be processed before you even check in?
3) In resort JW’s no lounge access but breakfast in the restaurant (if selected as the welcome amenity)?

1. Ask nicely. I usually do it through the chat less than a day before I arrive or at check-in.
2. Yes, this happens frequently for me, occasionally even months out.
3. Officially no lounge access and $10 F&B Credit if selected as welcome gift. Complementary breakfast is then property dependent; some offer it, some don't.
