I was curious where the 753 that is the 11:30 AM flight to PHX on the 10th was coming from since UA no longer uses that aircraft for flights in and out of PHL. Now I can check flight status and see that is is coming up as UA 3346 from IAH leaving at 6AM and arriving at 10:14AM, but it seems UA is not selling this as a revenue flight as all the seats are unoccupied and you can't book that flight on the website. I wonder why they don't try to sell the seats as I assume the FAs will be on the plane to staff the flight down to PHX?
the yield on that flight is so large they can afford to ferry a plane. and who knows what united manpower resource issues they're having this week with flight attendants. the need to have the equipment in phl on time for the big game for high yield customers outweighs the extra last minute revenue that will also necessitate a full 757 crew out of iah.
