As above, there is a limited number flying (although I think all 12 are active atm) and apparently their storage conditions were higher humidity than other locations which has contributed to some degradation, and there is little redundancy in the fleet.

If a 777 goes tech there are lots of similar capacity options to substitute with but for an A380, not so easy.
The delays before Xmas were, for the most part, due to the additional catering requirements. Once Do&Co sorted that issue, there were then staff shortages - and those continue still to this day.

I've often found the A380 might be delayed departing, but in 20 A380 flights in the past 6 months, I've never actually landed late - so either I've been lucky, or BA have taken a page out of the AA book on flight padding!
