Not gonna turn this into a rant, but:
1. Super short staffed. Waited nearly 9 hours for soap and shampoo - bathroom only had 3 facial soap bars & lotion. Used the app & also called requested 2 extra pillows as well. At 945PM, I drove to CVS to get gel & shampoo. I get back 10:15PM, find a bag on my door full of towels and about 50 pieces of shampoo/shower gel/soap, etc - including a massive bottle of shower gel. 11PM, another bag, still no extra pillows, full of towels and 20-30 shampoos/soaps, etc. 1130pm, pillows arrived, with MORE towels and another 30 shampoos/soaps, etc. Talk about passive aggressive.
2. Used points for the stay. Noticed on my folio a $90 "Reward Redemption fee" PLUS taxes, and resort fee. HOLY SH.... Even Bonvoy Guest relations has never heard of this one.
Great hotel, but the owners should have stopped selling rooms/cut off inventory so that the guest experience of a Westin can be met without having to drive to CVS to get basic toiletries. I'm afraid to even try breakfast if they are this short staffed. I've done hotel business, the staff here need better tools to deliver the standards guests expect. Is the hotel having a bad night.. CLOSE OFF SALES. Need extra toiletries - have them at the front desk!
This is ridiculous from a Westin, how can a property keep a Westin flag while lagging on so many fronts, especially since it's in dire need of a renovation as well. Again I say, this property has such potential on paper and in pictures anyway. Perhaps they need new ownership & management.
