We flew YYZ - HKG pre-covid, total 4 travellers. My daughter who was 5, me, my sister and my niece who was 4 months old. We had the bulk seat with the bassinet, the configuration is 3-4-3 on our flight, we have 3 seats out of the 4 in the bulkhead center. As someone else mention, the bassinet can only hook on one side, we ended up asking the other person in our row to swap to Seat D for us.

From our experience, the bassinet is not worth it (especially for this route). As this is also where the emergency exit and lavatory is located. Other than when seatbelt sign was lit, there were always loads of ppl hanging around the area (stretching, exercising, talking, ppl waiting/going in and out of lavatory). Every time my niece fell asleep, she was woken within 5 minutes by someone in the vicinity. Worse is, that ppl are inconsiderate and kept walking thru the bulkhead where bassinet hung to get to the other aisle. FAs came and told a few of ppl to stop as this is dangerous to the bassinet but it still persisted, we ended up taking all our carryon out of overhead bins and put it in front to block the floor space. If we are to do it again, we will not get the bassinet or bulkhead row on this route regardless of legroom.
