Got the bassinet on YYZ-DUB. It was an awful leatherette coffin barely deep enough for our 7 month old. The stiff flap of a lid had to be buckled closed whenever she was in it. Would take it in shifts with my spouse (2-4 hours each, then swap) on laps over that bassinette again.
Yikes, sounds rough if the lid has to be on. Can't imagine the baby complying with that.

Bassinet is only useful for very small babies. Up to ~3-4 months max. And if they’re able to sit up it’s no use at all. (Will actually be a negative as the baby will get agitated trying to sit up when the “cover” is on.)
For a ten month old they won’t even fit in the bassinets, never mind enjoy it.
(We’re well past 20 flights with our 18 month old so have tried it all!)
I see...interesting that they set the weight limit so high if the bassinet is tiny.
