None of those alone, or in combination, were apparently enough of a red flag to trigger an interview. I didn't figure the European countries would, but thought the South American countries or Israel might.
When I went for my first renewal (second interview) I was grilled about any possible travel to Cuba???? (never been there). I believe I had visited Russia (we helped establish the specialty of Emergency Medicine in that country and also helped several docs to emigrate) during the interim between first and second interview. I visited Russia again in the interim, about 2019 on a cruise with grandchildren, and am wondering whether that might relate to our current difficulties.
