NFC works for me every time and I get my BP in the app. When boarding the GA just looks to see if I have my passport but doesn't look at the picture page. This is for recent flights to/from Mexico, Costa Rica, and the Bahamas.

Actually upon returning from the Bahamas I couldn't check in on the app and at the ticket counter at the tiny Exuma airport I got the dreaded SSSS which was a closer look inside my luggage.
