Just a strong hunch here about the difference between Pacific View and Ocean View. We stayed on points in January (booked Pacific View, didn't get any indication of an upgrade), and our building (#7, as in 7XX room numbers) had another building immediately in front of us. So while we didn't have a 180 degree ocean view, we had very solid ocean views to our left and right. My guess is that "Ocean View" rooms have an unobstructed view. The room sizes and descriptions otherwise seem the exact same.
Our view was perfectly nice, and we'd take it again in a heartbeat. Hope that helps.
