Where they’ve found success is when you call in to AA reservations you have to explain the scenario and then ask the rep to please reach out to the OneWorld support desk. That will prompt that team to reach out to JL to request they open F inventory on another of their US flights and rebook you. I suggest being incredibly kind and approach from a place of helping the agent by directing them to get your desired results. And expect to be very patient.

I’ve had several tickets on JL flights booked through AA and the second the JL rep sees it’s an 001 ticket they immediately tell you that you must work with AA. They won’t touch the ticket until typically 24-hours before departure. So if you call AA back and they try to tell you to go back to JL you need to tell them JL won’t touch it since it’s an AA booked ticket and you will need the AA rep to reach out to the OneWorld support desk as I outlined above.
Thank for the tips.

What I might do is check one week before my flight back from hnd to ord see if there is any openings f and j from hnd to bos, since my final destination is bos. Hopefully there is, I can put those award tickets on hold.then cancel all 4 ticket get miles back and rebook it hopefully I can get that all done withine 5 day on told tickets.
. My only concern is if I cancel those 4 j reward back to USA and don't get those points back in time to rebook then I am kind of screw.
