TG 433 BKK-CGK Feb 3rd

Hey all,

Got to fly TG J the other day on a BKK-CGK itinerary and honestly was surprised by how pleasant the flight was. Also didn’t hurt that the originally scheduled 772 was switched out for a newish 789 with TG’s only reverse herringbone config. Check in at BKK was smooth as was the fast track security direct to the prestige lounge. The new prestige lounge was kind of a disappointment as it was packed to the gills that morning w/ clientele that would make the the folks who frequent the AA MIA AC look like scholars of ettiquite (I’m talking hogging multiple chairs, being barefoot, and blasting YouTube videos at max volume on their speakerphones). Luckily it was a morning flight and I had arrived at BKK without much time to spare, so I had no qualms leaving the lounge after some water and a croissant. Hence why I took no lounge pics. Once on board, it was a completely different atmosphere, with an absolutely delightful crew, who were very attentive to take care of any request yet casual enough to crack some jokes with me. I genuinely enjoyed TGs iteration of the reverse herringbone seat, and contrary to some
other reports, didn’t find it too confining at all. I’d say it’s as good as the reverse herringbone configs of CX, BR, and AA’s 77W, and superior to the super diamond configs of many carriers due to the more open footwell. Although this was a short 3hr morning flight, I still managed to get a good 90 minutes of sleep as well. Breakfast was fruit, yoghurt, croissants and rolls, and pad Thai which absolutely hit the spot (with options for a fritatata or omelet and chicken sausage). No menu, but breakfast was coursed which is a bonus imho on intra-asean regional flights. Unfortunately since this was an 8am departure I decided to be a teetotaler so no review of the booze. But overall quite a good experience on TG!
