Yeah that’s the one. My original flight was due to leave 1700 for AUS arriving at 1800
I was right at the pointy end of the plane & as soon as I realised even with pre Check trusted Traveller it was going to be impossible to make my connection I was about to email BA. I’m GGL. Then I noticed the mssg from BA saying I was moved to the very last flight. I noticed there was at least one flight at 2000 which would be better than the 2145 connection so emailed saying pls put me on it. Within 10mins I had a reply asking security questions which I did. Then I never heard back from the GGL for almost 24hrs. I dare say had they moved me to the 2000 I’d have arrived at 2100 which would have been around 3 hours late. I’d not have got the £520. Once in DFW I did suggest this but the folks were struggling enough getting my bags re-labelled with the “BA booking they can’t change” so I went to the AA Flagship lounge. Ate some flagship dining & arrived in AUS at 2245 some 4hrs 45mins late. Which triggered the eligibility for the £520. The extra 1.5hours it took rather to reach AUS instead of catching the 2000 turned out ok. I’ve only ever submitted 2 BA claims they were both handled by BA very well.
