Searching SEA to HND it's showing me 2-stop trips going first to somewhere like Boise or Spokane then on to SFO or LAX for the overseas leg on JAL in first class for 70k each way...but if I change my search to start in SFO or LAX it shows 0 availability for first.
Why would jumping between 2 other cities to get to SFO or LAX magically open up first availability and how do I get around this to just book the non-stop?
Are you sure the lax-tyo segment is actually in F? Often it will show that F is avail w the full F price, and when you click on it, it turns out that the only F segment is the US connector.
