Just received a flight change for April: UA32 LAX > NRT, now re-routed (with a stop) through SFO. Upon calling, the friendly phone attendant poked around and noticed that as of March 25, UA32 is no longer operating, but UA39 (to HND) continues to be on the schedule. UA39 has never actually run to this day. Sometimes I would book UA39, only to be eventually swapped to NRT. Now it appears that will not be the case. I did a few searches in August as well, no UA32. Gone.

Anyone have insight on this? I have been flying LAX>NRT non-stop for 15 years, without fail. Is it possible that LAX > HND will finally run? Does it have to do with costs flying into NRT vs HND?
